Working in Partnership

Drayton Park - Parents

We welcome parents' involvement with their children's education and want to build up a good partnership between home and school.  Here are some of the ways we keep in touch with parents:

  • Fortnightly newsletter from the headteacher
  • Blackboard by the main entrance giving details of what is happening each week
  • Termly parents' meeting with class teachers: at the beginning of the autumn term and for parents/carers to meet the teachers; in the spring term to discuss progress; in the summer term to discuss the end-of-year report and any SATs results
  • Once a term, parents are invited to a workshop with the teacher based on the work done in class
  • Termly newsletters from teachers saying what topics their classes will be covering
  • Meetings between the headteacher and Year 6 parents/carers early in the autumn term to discuss their child's move to secondary school, the year 6 school journey and SATs
  • Consultation with parents over key school policies
  • Family Learning Group activities involving parents
  • Staff representation at PTA meetings

If you want to contact a specific teacher, please phone the office (7607 4142) to make an appointment.

Helping in school

We welcome help in school from parents/carers.  We would be particularly grateful if you could help listen to some of our children read.  Our current volunteers have found this a rewarding way to contribue to the school.  Please contact the headteacher if you are interested.
