Drayton Park - Family Learning Group
Parents/carers are children's first educators and learning can go on through the day - at home as well as at school. We believe that families learning together through play and practical activities can help improve children's school performance and achievement.
Drayton Park School has a number of family learning opportunities. One of our learning mentors runs sessions for parents during the school day and we hold after school family events when the whole family is invited to make and do things together. We have, for example, made cards and gift boxes.
We also arrange visits to museums as well as hosting shows and demonstrations by museum experts. We have visited most of London's museums with friends and families. There is a display of our most recent family learning group activities at the bottom of the main school stairs.
We also have a family Learning Group for parents with pre-school children which runs at Highbury Roundhouse on Mondays. We value the involvement of parents and carers in their child's education so we hope that you will join our family learning programme, and use it as an opportunity to get to know about your child's school work and maybe learn something new yourself!
