Drayton Park - School Meals School dinners
These are cooked on the premises. A menu is provided daily and always includes a vegetarian option. The school kitchen also offers a packed lunch option. When your child starts at school you will be given details of school dinners and costs. The headteacher’s newsletter gives details of any changes. Dinner money for the week should be handed in at the office or given to your child’s teacher on Mondays. Please put the money in an envelope with your child’s name and class on the outside. You can also pay half-termly by cheque. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Drayton Park Primary School’ and should be handed in at the office, or given to your child’s class teacher. If you would like to find out about entitlement to Free School Meals, please talk to the staff in our school office.

Packed lunches
Children can bring in their own packed lunches although we prefer them to have school dinners. We encourage healthy eating and do not allow sweets (including chewing gum) or sugar-added drinks in packed lunches. We ask parents not to send their children in with any nuts, or food containing nuts, to help protect any child who may have a nut allergy. Glass bottles and containers, including vacuum flasks, must not be brought into school.

Changing lunch choices
Changing from school dinners to packed lunches (and vice versa) can only be done half-termly. Please let the office know if you wish your child to change from one to the other.

Snacks
Children can bring in milk, a sugar-free drink or a piece of fruit for playtime. There is always water available. Milk is provided free to our Nursery children.
